Dental Insurance Information
If you have dental insurance, you want to make sure you choose a dentist who works with your plan. That doesn’t necessarily mean one who is in-network with your provider. It can be confusing, but you can still receive the same benefits with an out-of-network dentist. At Fox Creek Family Dental, your dentist in Loveland and Longmont accepts a number of plans, and we also offer an in-house savings plan for patients who could use a little extra help paying for their dental care.
Learn more about how dental insurance works, and how you can make the most out of your investment for long-lasting oral health, below.
How Dental Insurance Works
Dental insurance doesn’t work quite like your medical coverage. Instead of covering you in the event of something large -- like a car accident or cancer diagnosis -- dental insurance works by helping you to steer clear of large oral health issues altogether. It does that by making regular preventive care free or super affordable. Your dental insurance plan will cover two checkups and cleanings per year, usually in addition to fluoride treatments and an annual set of x-rays. These services help your dentist catch cavities, gum disease, and other oral health hazards almost as soon as they develop, for the most effective, conservative treatment possible. If you do need restorative treatment, your dental insurance will likely cover a significant portion of necessary services.
In-Network vs. Out-of-Network Dentists
What is step one in making the most out of your dental insurance plan? Finding a dentist who is in-network with your plan. An in-network dentist is one who has come to an agreement with your provider to offer services at a certain (reduced) price. You receive the discounts on your care right upfront, with no need to wait for reimbursements later on. But if you have a dentist you love visiting, you can probably still receive the same benefits -- you’ll just have to pay the total amount out-of-pocket upfront. Many dental offices will help by processing and filing the claim for you.
Our In-House Savings Plan
Patients of Fox Creek Family Dental benefit from our in-house savings plan. For a low annual fee, you and your family are eligible for a whole list of services that you can receive for free or at a heavy discount. Members of our in-house savings plan benefit from a free checkup and cleaning every six months, along with diagnostic x-rays and an oral cancer screening every year. If you do need restorative dental care, you will receive significant discounts on popular treatments like crowns, dentures, partials, and dental implants.
